Happy New Year and thanks to everyone!

Happy New Year everyone! Thanks so much to all who donated during our end of year fundraiser, hosted by my good friend Ryan Cabrera! We raised over $25,000 for The Avril Lavigne Foundation, thanks to Ryan & all the artists who joined us!  We performed ‘Tell Me It’s Over’ for the first time LIVE and had so much fun! As always, all proceeds raised will help The Avril Lavigne Foundation support individuals affected by Lyme Disease, as we continue to provide prevention resources & treatment, accelerate research and transform lives. Thanks for your support! xo Avril

Thank you so much to everyone who supported the launch of #HeadAboveWater by purchasing our charitable t-shirt!!  All funds raised through this initiative will directly benefit individuals affected by Lyme Disease, through our partner beneficiaries Global Lyme Alliance and LymeLight Foundation.  Soon we’ll be announcing another amazing initiative that you can support (and get some cool swag!), which will also benefit the Lyme community.  Your ongoing support is much appreciated and absolutely necessary as we work together to eradicate Lyme. Follow @TheAvrilLavigneFoundation on Instagram to be the first to hear about new ways you can join our fight.

Congratulations to my friends at Global Lyme Alliance (GLA) on the incredible success of their NY Gala on October 11. I’m honoured to share with you that I’ve accepted an invitation from Global Lyme Alliance to join their Board of Directors. To solve a pandemic like Lyme disease, it will take innovative research, global awareness and strong, committed partnerships, like the one we’ve recently created between The Avril Lavigne Foundation and GLA, focused on prevention, treatment and RESEARCH. No single doctor, researcher, organization or foundation will achieve the goal of eradicating Lyme Disease off the face of this earth alone. It will take the energy, passion, innovation and intelligence of many. Right now, leaving Lyme behind seems almost impossible. No matter how much we want to. No matter how strong we are. No matter how much faith we have. No matter the inconceivable depths of our individual resilience. But TOGETHER, we will change that impossibility. Because COLLECTIVELY, we are unbreakable. And UNITED, we WILL TRANSFORM LIVES, and beat this disease!!! I am 100% committed to working alongside my fellow Board Members to shape the strategy, and roadmap toward a cure. They are a passionate and driven group of business professionals, some of whom are Lyme sufferers themselves, and ALL of whom are parents, spouses and caregivers of Lyme patients. We have a common purpose.  I’m also looking forward to working with GLA’s staff & volunteers, to raise funds for research to support patient treatment and access to care, as well as to continue to do all we can to help raise awareness – both domestically & internationally - as an official member of Team GLA. TOGETHER we will end the injustice endured by so many.  Thank you.

Hi everyone. I’m so excited to finally share my new single #HeadAboveWater with you! This song is very personal to me as I wrote it while battling for my life with Lyme Disease. With the single, The Avril Lavigne Foundation launched a charitable t-shirt campaign to raise funds in support of our recently expanded mission.

As we move forward, we will raise awareness and aid prevention of the Lyme epidemic and other diseases. We will directly impact the lives of individuals and families affected by Lyme through treatment grants administered by our charitable partners; and an alliance to accelerate scientific research. All proceeds raised through this and all our initiatives enable us to provide hope and expand the number of lives we’re able to transform. Thank you so much for your support!

Race to Erase MS

Hi guys! I’ve been on the Board of Directors for Race to Erase MS for several years, and I’m always honored to show up and support their incredible mission, and my friend Nancy Davis. I had an amazing time last night at the LOVE TO ERASE MS gala, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Race to Erase MS. Over $1.75 million was raised to benefit the Race to Erase MS and its Center Without Walls program, a collaboration of top MS research centers working together as a team on ground-breaking research with the goal of treating and, ultimately, finding a cure for MS.  To learn more about the incredible work of this organization, visit http://www.erasems.org

Thanks For Your Support

I’ve been away from the blog for a bit but I’m back with exciting news!  Thanks to YOUR generosity, over the past three years, we’ve been able to raise over $150,000 to support children & young adults with their treatment of Lyme Disease.  We absolutely LOVE our partnership with Lymelight Foundation because they are able to directly help people get the medication and treatments that they so desperately need, and which often times are unaffordable. But because of YOU, many, many more families are now getting the proper assistance to deal with chronic Lyme. This year, we gave away a bunch of swag, and autographed stuff during the campaign and I got to FB Live with many of you, which was so much fun! I was super excited to speak with our grand prize winners:  Nick from Georgia and Mikey from Ohio!! Congratulations to everyone who won prizes!

I’ve been busy in the studio working on my new record and can’t wait to share it with you, but just wanted to send you huge thanks for supporting this campaign, which obviously is close to my heart.  You can learn more about an awesome drummer named Ashley, and more of the kids & youth that you are helping by visiting http://www.lymelightfoundation.org.

Make sure to follow @LymeLightFndn on Twitter and  @LymeLightFoundation on FB to keep updated on all the incredible things that LymeLight is doing to help families in need.  And thanks again for your support! So many more good things coming in 2018..can’t wait to see you soon! Xoxo Avril

ANNUAL BIRTHDAY PARTY FUNDRAISER

Fri, Sep 2, 2016 at 8:59 AM

Hi Everyone!! It’s September again and I love this month! I always get so excited for my annual Birthday Party Fundraiser and I am so happy to once again announce a new and exciting collaboration with LymeLight Foundation. We have partnered up again to help support children and young adults with their treatment of Lyme disease. Even though my Foundation has taken a step back to re-align our goals I have always wanted to continue the September spirit of giving and I have made sure that it’s packed with prizes for you to win with your donation. You can win cool R.O.C.K.S T- shirts, Hoodies and some awesome prizes from me too! A full, signed discography, a personalized 8x10 and a grand prize Avril swag bag. Excited yet? There’s more. LymeLight Foundation and the work that they do truly is amazing. They help so many children and young adults get the treatment and medications for Lyme disease that they otherwise could not afford. Did you know that only a small percent of people get the early diagnosis and treatment that is so important in fighting the disease? And that most insurance companies do not cover the treatment of chronic Lyme disease? Families are often left on their own to battle the disease often incurring enormous medical debt. My goal this year is to raise $50,000 to provide treatment grants for children and young adults. Please help me by making a donation today and entering to win some amazing prizes! As always, I thank my amazing fans for all of their continued support and I know that we can all help make my Birthday wish come true! Please visit http://lymelight.blueskysweet.com to donate and win prizes or by clicking on the link above in my Birthday banner! Good luck everyone and thank you! Xo Avril

Our Special Olympics Athletes!

The Avril Lavigne Foundation is excited to share updates about the amazing partnership with Special Olympics. Last year, Avril and the Foundation set a goal of sponsoring 30 athletes at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games for Avril’s 30th Birthday. Thank you to everyone who contributed to Avril’s Birthday campaign – we made it happen!

The Opening Ceremony for the 2015 games is July 25th in Los Angeles and Avril will be there to perform her single, Fly, and to cheer on all of the athletes (be sure to tune in!). Special Olympic athletes inspire us all to be courageous, uninhibited and to always putting our best foot forward. The 30 amazing athletes that our team is supporting are shown below. These diverse athletes are from all over the world, representing Canada, USA, Brazil, Mexico, Philippines, Japan, China and South Korea. Competing in Special Olympics lets our athletes “make new friends”, “relieve stress” and “enjoy life”!
